Forbes has released Top 10 highest-paid authors.
No. 1 on our list is James Patterson, the thriller novel writer is runaway winner earning 70 million dollars.
His foreign sales alone bring in well over $10 million a year.
Stephenie Meyer, Vampire romance author, ranks second this year. She earned $40 million over the year due her Twilight series.



The third on the list is Stephen King with a take of $34 million due his 51st novel, "Under the Dome".
No. 4 is Danielle Steel who earned $32 million from the romance novelist.
Forbes based the rankings between June, 2009 and June, 2010.
